Purpose:
• Accountable for supporting the development of business opportunities and marketing strategies, as well as maintaining commercial and other relationships.
• Responsible for maintaining a market intelligence database and analysing statistical data.

Principal Accountabilities:
1. Coordinating customer issues with relevant departments.
2. Maintaining a customer database, including customer and company profiles.
3. Providing post-event reports, analysis, and regular status reports on commercial and other marketing activities.
4. Overseeing media and communication requirements of the company, ensuring consistent and high corporate standards are maintained.
5. Assisting in maintaining continuous knowledge of industry and market trends.
6. Supporting the delivery of objectives within the organizational strategy and business plans.
7. Reporting directly to the BD & Projects Senior Manager.
8. Gathering, analysing, and comparing competitor data and pricing.
9. Overseeing the execution of promotional activities, including print, electronic media, trade shows, direct mail, and similar marketing tools.
10. Obtaining information from external agencies on ongoing campaigns.
11. Assisting in preparing material for the maintenance of the company website.
12. Collating information and materials for the preparation of press releases, articles, and media responses.
13. Maintaining the marketing library.
14. Assisting in developing client visit programs for key visitors.
15. Assisting in the preparation and verification of press releases for media, magazines, websites, etc.
16. Monitoring competitors’ marketing events.
17. Providing secretarial support during meetings, handling general correspondence, activity schedules, and follow-up on pending issues.
18. Supporting the BD Manager through the provision and maintenance of information used to plan marketing campaigns and strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Market Research: Conducting market research and analysis to identify potential business opportunities, target markets, and industry trends. Gathering data on competitors, customers, and market conditions.
2. Lead Generation: Identifying and generating leads through various channels such as cold calling, networking, attending industry events, and utilizing online platforms. Building and maintaining a database of prospective clients and contacts.
3. Proposal Development: Assisting in the development of business proposals, including gathering relevant information, creating presentations, and preparing documentation to support the sales process.
4. Relationship Building: Building and maintaining relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to foster business growth and collaboration. Establishing rapport, addressing inquiries, and providing necessary support throughout the business development process.
5. Data Analysis and Reporting: Analysing sales and business development data to track performance, evaluate strategies, and identify areas for improvement. Preparing reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to management.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborating with internal teams, such as Commercial, finance, and operations, to align business development efforts with overall company goals and objectives.
7. Relationship Management Systems: Utilizing customer relationship management (CRM) systems and other tools to manage and track leads, opportunities, and customer interactions.
8. Industry Knowledge: Staying up-to-date with industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies to identify new business opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
9. Administrative Tasks: Performing various administrative tasks to support the business development function, such as scheduling meetings, organizing travel arrangements, and maintaining accurate records.

Work/Business Contacts and Authority:
• Internal: Head of Business Units and relevant managers.
• External: Potential/current customers and various stakeholders.

Critical Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• Requires a college degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of five years of direct marketing/BD experience in the transportation or related industry (GCC experience is a plus)
• Basic knowledge of the transportation industry, sales methods and practices, trends, and customers.
• Familiarity with best practices in marketing, and business development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use and prepare presentations.
• Strong analytical skills, including data extraction, compilation, and analysis.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with customers tactfully.
• Maintains confidentiality and discretion with company information.
• Proactive, shows initiative, and anticipates external customer needs.
• Fluency in English and the local language is a plus.
