MACNA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Faculty of Maritime Studies at King Abdulaziz University (KAU), establishing a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening the development of Saudi maritime talent and supporting the Kingdom’s long-term ambitions for the maritime sector.
The agreement creates a bridge between academic learning and practical industry experience by providing maritime cadets with structured sea-training opportunities onboard MACNA vessels. Through this collaboration, students will gain the essential onboard experience required to develop their technical competencies, enhance their professional readiness, and progress toward internationally recognised Certificates of Competency.
The partnership also lays the foundation for broader collaboration between academia and industry through knowledge exchange, technical consultation, research initiatives, and initiatives that contribute to the continued advancement of Saudi Arabia’s maritime sector.
The signing ceremony brought together representatives from MACNA and King Abdulaziz University, reflecting a shared commitment to preparing future Saudi deck officers, marine engineers, and maritime professionals who will support the Kingdom’s growing maritime ambitions.
The collaboration also carries a personal significance for MACNA. Among those representing the company was Yousif Alseeni, Deputy Operations Manager and Alternate Company Security Officer, who is himself a graduate of the Faculty of Maritime Studies at King Abdulaziz University. Returning to his alma mater to help establish opportunities for future cadets reflects the full-circle journey that this partnership seeks to create—where today’s graduates become tomorrow’s industry leaders, returning to inspire and support the next generation.
